LIVING WITH IMAGES is an inquiry into a more tangible experience of image and memory. The collection leans on artists and hands of makers whose work is to create vessels–vases, homes, heirlooms–of lives lived. It hopes to explore what it means to see, hold, and touch a memory through objects, reminding us of our physicality: we are bodies entangled with each other, but perhaps more often than we realize, with objects and spaces. Feminist Physicist and Philosopher, Karen Barad introduced “intra-action”, a concept that sees action as something that emerges only within relationships. “All designated things are constantly exchanging and diffracting, influencing and working inseparably.” Barad believes that “the very nature of materiality is an entanglement.” So, through this collection, we ask: what changes when we interject physical images into our everyday lives? Or when we use objects to hold a memory? And in what ways can we make space for them?

The first two objects of the collection is in collaboration with Ceramic Artist, Mikee Naval and Architect, JM Avenido. The pieces will be launched in the new studio of ASSEMBLAGE OF in NBS Park, Mandaluyong City.
